Manchester United will take on Juventus on Wednesday night and their star midfielder, Paul Pogba jokingly says Ronaldo “scores as easily as he drinks water” and believes Juventus made a good decision by investing in Ronaldo during the summer.
Speaking ahead of United’s clash against Juventus in Turin on Wednesday, Pogba said Ronaldo made scoring look easy.
‘I thought it was a really good thing for Juventus [to sign Ronaldo]. Obviously, it’s always good to have players like Cristiano in your team,’ he said.
‘Playing alongside great players like Ronaldo, like [Lionel] Messi and like Neymar is always a pleasure. Today he is with Juventus.
‘I think he is very happy to be here and I think it’s a great thing for Juventus to have a player who scores as easily as he drinks water.’
Paul Pogba spent four years at Juventus where he won several trophies but decided to leave Italy during the summer of 2016 and join his boyhood club, Manchester United. However, Pogba insists he has no regrets over his decision to leave.
‘Choosing to come back to Manchester United was my choice and Juventus were playing Champions League and Manchester were playing Europa League,’ Pogba explained. ‘I knew, first of all, I wouldn’t play Champions League and I was very happy. I made my choice and don’t regret it all.
‘I know Manchester United, last few years not being at the top, but I came back just to help the team and try to come back at the top so we are on the way. We have a lot of goals.
‘So, for me, no, it’s not strange. It’s a choice and I don’t regret it all. I’m very happy to come back to Manchester United and wear the shirt and everything and I’m sure we will come back to our best.’
Tonight’s encounter between the two clubs will be keenly contested. A win for Juventus will see them through to the next round and a lose for United will mean them have to win their last two group games against Young Boys and Valencia.
